2019 Leading for Learning Program for Experienced School Leaders
The 13th annual Leading for Learning short course for Alberta school administrators, sponsored by the College of Alberta School Superintendents (CASS), will be offered at Olds College beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, ending at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2019. The registration fee is $895.00 (includes GST) or $595.00 if accommodation isn’t required (includes GST). Registration is limited to 30 participants. Over the past eleven years, approximately 400 experienced school administrators have participated in the Leading for Learning short course.
Leading for Learning 2019 will be co-coordinated by the CASS Directors of Leadership Learning, Dr. Del Litke and Elizabeth Gouthro. Dr. Del Litke has been serving as a coordinator and this will be his 5th year, and Elizabeth Gouthro, her 4th year with the program.
The feedback from the Leading for Learning participants has been very positive each year. 100% of the 2018 participants rated the learning experience as very good or excellent, and 100% of the participants indicated that the program was very useful for their work as leaders.
Leading for Learning targets four groups extremely well:
- Administrators who took Start Right previously and want to take the next learning leadership step.
- New administrative teams – building relationships around the right leadership.
- Administrators who need support with instructional leadership and leading learning.
- Experienced administrators who are learners.
The program continues to evolve and we are pleased to welcome back the Alberta Teachers’ Association to our solid list of presenters including: Scott Morrison, Kurt Sacher, and Del Litke. Additionally, in response to the new Leadership Quality Standard, our opening session will focus on First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education.
